Rooster Weather Vane

In art class, 5th graders learned that a sculpture is a three-dimensional work of art. A three-dimensional work of art can be measured in three ways. You can measure the height, width and depth. Students created a sculpture of a Rooster Weather Vane, using paper mache.

  1. The roosters look great! How long are your classes? I would love to do something like this, but time and space for eighty something fifth graders would be a problem.

  2. i see the kids once a week for an hour. so lessons like this one take a few weeks. i've had small art rooms in the past, so i just have to be creative. i put 3D artwork under tables or lay table cloths down on the floor and set them on there....
